ASSISTS PRINCESS ALICE ADOPTION HOME |
|
We are all facing tough times, but it is important to remember that there are still people out there who dedicate their lives to assisting others. It was with this in mind that Meta4 Marketing came to the aid of an adoption home in Westcliff at the end of February this year as part of their corporate social investment initiative.
The home constantly looks for support with supply of basic equipment and necessities, and Meta4 was able to assemble a few things including computer equipment and baby clothes that were welcomed with small, stretched out arms and sparkling eyes.
The Princess Alice Adoption Home is a home caring for 30 babies who have been put forward for adoption, or who have been abandoned. The home also cares for three young pregnant, unmarried girls who are in desperate need for housing and guidance. These girls, in turn, assist by looking after the babies.
The pregnant girls are cared for in various ways including guidance and support during the pregnancy and on the decision of putting their own child up for adoption or not. The home teaches them basic skills (like knitting) and coaches self-confidence.
Vanessa Falconer, MD of Meta4 Marketing enthuses, “It is an absolute pleasure to assist the Princess Alice Adoption Home as it is an amazing facility with so many wonderful volunteers pouring their love, time and effort onto these babies! Thank you to all the volunteers from the community in assisting with everyday tasks, Red Cross students who assist with baby care tasks and the professional volunteers who provide medical and physiotherapy services.”
Princess Alice Adoption home is a facility of the Johannesburg Child Welfare Society and was founded in 1930 by Princess Alice, one of Queen Victoria’s 35 grandchildren. They are always in need of donations, but there are certain items which there is a more urgent need for. Thank you letter from Princess Alice
