SA COMPANY META4 MARKETING THE WINNING FORMULA BEHIND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Johannesburg, 08 March 2007: Meta4 Marketing is the events management team behind the International Conference on Sustaining Africa's Democratic Momentum. The Conference was convened by the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC), the African Union (AU) and International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) to bolster ongoing efforts to improve and enhance democracy, elections and governance in Africa.

The Conference provided a platform to deal with issues of democracy and electoral processes on the African continent, and brought participants together from all relevant areas in Africa and further abroad to share experiences and build relationships. This is only the second time a conference of this nature has been held in South Africa; the first was in 2003 when delegates from across Africa came together to examine issues of

Elections, Democracy and Governance on the continent. Meta4 Marketing was awarded the tender in December 2006 for event logistics, communications, public relations and branding for the Conference, and subsequently worked closely with the IEC to ensure the conference ran smoothly and that the over 350 international delegates that attended had a memorable and worthwhile visit to South Africa.

Held at the Sandton Convention Centre from 5 -7 March 2007, Meta4 was responsible for organising and coordinating flights and accommodation for all, as well as arranging a cocktail evening, the opening ceremony, a gala dinner and delegate tour packages. The company was also instrumental in putting together the plenary sessions and workshops,inviting media and VIP guests including ensuring sufficient security for all VIP delegates
while in Johannesburg.

On communications and branding, Meta4 Marketing coordinated media activities and all of the production of brochures, programmes, files, speaker papers that included translations, gifts and identification procedures whilst setting up and populating the conference website.

Vanessa Falconer, MD of Meta4 Marketing and Project Manager on this project, said it had been a challenging and exciting project to work on, and is delighted that the conference was a great success. "It has been a privilege to work on a conference of this magnitude and importance," she concludes.
