Meta4 Marketing was proud to be awarded the tender to become logistics provider to the Women's Day celebrations this year. There was significant symbolism of this year’s event celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 1956 Women’s March to the Union Buildings.

Working together with the Department of Arts and Culture, the Meta4 Marketing all female team were appointed to coordinate catering for over 1500 VIP’s and placing them in a magnificent marquee on the Union Buildings terrace, providing them with a view of the over 46 000 women in attendance. A sizeable stage was erected to accommodate the cultural programme consisting of successful South African women performers and cultural acts to entertain all attendees throughout the day.

Says Vanessa Falconer, MD and Events Director for Meta4, “This was a fantastic opportunity for Meta4 to extend their expertise into the Governmental arena. It is not every day that a small company gets to work on an event of this magnitude, but with our solid team and steadfast suppliers, we were able to build up an event for the public and VIP’s that they could enjoy.

Meta4’s logistical operations began at Strijdom Square where the participating women marchers congregated. The co-ordination of entrances into the Union Buildings grounds was another facet as well as the set up within the Union Buildings Amphitheatre for the handover. Meta4 coordinated the set-up of all temporary structures within the grounds with the exclusion of the exhibition. A stage and podium construction was erected and catering of cultural dishes for all of the VIP’s was delivered.

“In an event such as this, it is imperative for all parties to work together towards the
common objective.” Continues Vanessa, “We at Meta4 would like to express our thanks to all of our suppliers and especially to Mr Corney Wright, Director of Events at the Department of Arts and Culture for working together with us, his guidance and support was unwavering.”
